The cost of a medicines order consists of:

  • the dispensing price of the medicines;
  • the cost of the Deutsche Post/DHL postal shipment;
  • a service fee for office and courier expenses, carrying out international settlements, and the services of searching for and ordering
    medicines and other sanitary-hygiene goods;
  • reservation, purchase, packing, and preparation of customs and shipping documents;
  • the cost of the packing material;
  • customer support;
  • taxes.

We deliberately do not quote the cost of medicines, for several reasons — above all because of the wide variety of their manufacturers, dosage forms and pack sizes, the promotions offered by pharmacies and wholesale suppliers on over-the-counter medicines, and the flexible discount system applied when several packs are ordered. For example, the Salofalk tablets and suppositories from the licence-holding pharmaceutical company Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH are, on average, 40 euros more expensive than the same medicines from kohlpharma GmbH, which is entitled to re-import them under the acquired licence.
Each order is processed on a strictly individual basis: we will offer you both original medicines and high-quality generics and licensed analogues from other manufacturers. We will inform you of the order cost when you contact us through the contact form or via the messengers listed in the site header.

Why medicines cost more abroad

When they contact us, some prospective customers are surprised by the high prices of medicines in Germany. Some are puzzled as to why German medicines are considerably cheaper in their own country than in German pharmacies, extrapolating from the prices of cars and other non-essential goods, particularly in the premium and luxury segment, which are much higher in Russia than in Germany.

It is difficult for us to explain to foreign customers why German-made Tamoxifen, for instance, costs nine times less in Russia than in a German pharmacy, or why Zoloft costs twenty times less in Russia than in Germany. The difference is due to different pricing systems, the agreements between manufacturers and statutory health insurance funds, and the legislation regulating medicine prices.

As for comparing the prices of German medicines with Russian ones, let us try to illustrate this with the example of the medicine Cuprenil, sold in Russia by the Israeli company Teva. Owing to the impossibility of re-registering the maximum selling price in the face of a substantial increase in production costs, supplying Cuprenil became economically unviable for the company. In other words, Teva could not sell it in Russia at a higher price, even though its production itself had become more expensive.

The list of vital and essential medicines (VED) is approved by the government of your country, and their prices are regulated by the state. A manufacturer may request a price increase no more than once a year, and to do so must provide calculations showing that maintaining the current prices is unsustainable. Not only Tevabut many other pharmaceutical companies have repeatedly stated that they are withdrawing medicines from your market or reducing supplies because they are refused a re-registration of the price. The shortage of high-quality imported medicines in Russia is caused precisely by this circumstance.
