Guarantee of authenticity of medicines from Germany
We help arrange the ordering of original medicines from Germany and often receive questions about quality guarantees. Let us clarify right away: separate quality certificates for medicines are usually not provided to buyers, either by us or by German pharmacies.
In Germany, the confirmation of the quality and authenticity of medicines is structured differently than in many post-Soviet countries. Medicines go on sale through licensed pharmacies, and quality control is ensured by manufacturers, wholesale suppliers, pharmacies, and regulatory bodies.
Why German pharmacies do not issue certificates to the buyer
At German pharmacies, medicines are sold within the framework of the existing pharmaceutical control system. Therefore, a pharmacy is not obliged to issue the buyer a separate quality certificate for each pack of a medicine.
Certificates and quality documents are provided to participants in the supply chain and to supervisory authorities in accordance with the established rules. For the end buyer, confirmation of the goods’ legal origin is provided by the pharmacy sales system itself, the factory packaging, and the medicine’s identification features.
How the authenticity of medicines from Germany is confirmed
The authenticity of medicines from Germany is confirmed by several features:
-
factory packaging with tamper protection;
-
a cash or sales receipt from the pharmacy;
-
an individual serial number on the packaging;
-
a Datamatrix code or QR code, if one is provided for the specific medicine.
On prescription-only medicines in Germany, a two-dimensional matrix code with a unique serial number is often used. When sold at a pharmacy, this number is verified through a digital control system, which reduces the risk of the same pack circulating again and helps confirm the medicine’s originality.
Where we arrange the purchase of medicines
We arrange the purchase of medicines and health products exclusively at German pharmacies. This makes it possible to order original medicines from Germany with confirmed origin.
After the order arrives at the pharmacy, we send you photographs of the medicines and a photo of the postal receipt with the tracking number. This procedure helps to additionally confirm that the order has indeed been placed, assembled, and handed over for shipment.
What guarantees we provide
We are responsible for our part of the service. This means that after order confirmation and payment, we arrange the purchase of the medicine at the pharmacy, prepare the shipping documents, pack the shipment securely, and hand it over to Deutsche Post.
At the same time, we cannot be responsible for the work of the postal and transport services after the shipment is handed over to the carrier. Delivery depends on the rules and operations of the logistics operators in the recipient’s country.
How we confirm the order
To give the customer greater peace of mind, we accompany the order at several stages:
-
we issue an official invoice from our company;
-
we confirm receipt of payment;
-
we report the order assembly status;
-
we send photographs of the medicines and a photo of the waybill with the tracking number.
What is important to consider
All postal shipments are processed in accordance with the established shipping rules. If delivery to the address is not possible or the customer has not collected it from the post office within the set period, the parcel is returned to the sender.
If a shipment is lost within the recipient’s country, the question of compensation is usually resolved through the national carrier in accordance with the postal delivery rules. All parcels are insured for the value of the contents, but for no more than €500. Within the EU, Deutsche Post offers additional shipment insurance for an amount of up to €5,000.00 for an extra charge.
